  • Cannell Meadow Trail and Cannell Plunge: A signature Kernville mountain bike epic with high-country riding and a major descent toward the Kern River Valley. Best for advanced riders with shuttle planning, fitness, and remote-route preparation. Sources: USFS Cannell Meadow Trail, National Recreation Trail record, Kern River Sierra Cannell guide.
  • Lower Cannell Trail: A lower-elevation Kernville option that can be useful outside the high-country season. It still needs condition checks for heat, loose tread, storms, and access. Source: Kern River Sierra Lower Cannell guide.
  • Whiskey Flat Trail: A rugged Kern River route with repeated drainage climbs and descents. The USFS describes biking as very challenging, so this is not a beginner recommendation. Source: USFS Whiskey Flat Trail.
  • Keysville Classic and Keysville SRMA trail network: Historic mining-country riding near Lake Isabella with BLM trails, race heritage, oak foothills, and winter/spring appeal. Sources: BLM Keysville SRMA, BLM Keysville map.

  • Moro Rock and Crescent Meadow Road: A short scenic paved cycling opportunity near Giant Forest when road status and seasonal shuttle rules allow. Verify posted conditions before promoting it as open. Source: NPS Sequoia and Kings Canyon Compendium.

National park rule reminder: In Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, bikes and e-bikes belong where traditional bikes and vehicles are allowed. Hiking trails are not general mountain bike routes. Check current National Park Service rules before riding.

Visalia And Foothill Gateway Rides

Giant Sequoia National Monument And Kern Plateau
