Yosemite And Yosemite Gateway

  • Yosemite Valley Bike Paths: A scenic, low-stress way to see Yosemite Valley by bike while leaving the car parked. Yosemite has more than 12 miles of paved bike paths, but mountain biking and off-trail riding are not permitted in the park. Source: National Park Service Yosemite biking.
  • Yosemite gateway road riding: Gateway towns and approach roads can work for experienced road cyclists, but visitors should check traffic, construction, smoke, weather, and park access before planning a ride.

Mammoth Lakes

June Lake, Lee Vining, And Mono County

  • June Lake Loop – Highway 158: A beautiful road-cycling loop past June, Gull, Silver, and Grant lakes, with village stops and big fall-color potential. Sources: Visit Mammoth June Lake Loop cycling, Visit June Lake Loop biking.
  • Mono County bike routes: Lee Vining, June Lake, Long Valley, Lower Rock Creek, and other east-side corridors give SierraStop useful road, gravel, and travel-planning coverage. Source: Mono County Bike Plan.

Bishop And The Eastern Sierra

  • Lower Rock Creek Trail: A classic Eastern Sierra singletrack ride descending through creekside shade, sagebrush, and aspen terrain between the Bishop and Mammoth areas. The BLM describes the route as moderately technical to technical. Source: BLM Rock Creek Trail.
  • White Mountain Road to Schulman Grove: A very strenuous high-altitude road or gravel-style climb from Owens Valley toward the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. Best for expert riders prepared for exposure, altitude, and big effort. Sources: Visit Bishop biking, White Mountain road information.

Millerton Lake And San Joaquin River Gorge

  • Millerton Lake multi-use trails: Foothill lake riding with oak woodland, lake views, and multi-use trails such as Blue Oak, North Shore, and the San Joaquin River Trail. Check current closures, heat, and park rules before riding. Sources: California State Parks Millerton Lake, Millerton visit information.
  • San Joaquin River Gorge: A BLM recreation area with biking, hiking, camping, and trail access near the river gorge. A useful lower-elevation option when higher Sierra routes are snowed in. Source: Recreation.gov San Joaquin River Gorge.

Shaver Lake, Huntington Lake, And China Peak

  • China Peak Mountain Bike Park: The strongest bike-specific anchor for the Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake high country. China Peak lists lift-served bike park terrain with green, blue, and black trails during select operating dates. Source: China Peak mountain biking.
  • Shaver Lake forest riding: Shaver works best as a lake-and-forest biking base with local trail networks, camping, rentals, and Sierra National Forest access. Use current local maps before riding because agency route detail can be thin. Sources: Sierra National Forest recreation, Shaver Lake local trail information.
  • Huntington Lake and Kaiser Pass Road: A serious high-country road cycling area with mountain scenery and challenging grades. Best for experienced road cyclists, especially because roads can be narrow, winding, and seasonally affected. Sources: Sierra Nevada Geotourism Huntington Lake, PJAMM Huntington Lake Road.
